Aline is a Visiting Research Fellow at the Transformative Learning Technologies Lab (TLTL) at Teachers College – Columbia University in New York. She is a journalist, art historian, and creator of Coletivo Têxtil Tramar, a group that researches manual textile knowledge linked to African and Afro Diaspora cultures and repatriates this knowledge to communities in Brazil. She is a Master’s student in Art History and Criticism at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). She researches black art and art history, art historiography, curatorial practices, art criticism in Brazil and is focused on fabric typology, natural dyeing, African and Afro Diaspora fabrics, fabric conservation and restoration. Currently, she works as a book editor at Editora Tramar, in addition to coordinating the extension project “Tecendo Frutos da Terra”, carried out through a partnership between Coletivo Têxtil Tramar and UFRJ.
