Thiago is a Visiting Research Fellow at the Transformative Learning Technologies Lab (TLTL) at Teachers College – Columbia University in New York. He holds a Doctoral Degree in History from the Federal University of Goiás on indigenous history in Brazil (18th / 19th century). He did a doctoral internship in Portugal linked to CHAM and the Instituto de Investigation Científica Tropical. He obtained his Master’s Degree in history from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, when he studied the teaching of natural sciences in Brazil in the 19th century. Thiago also has a degree in history from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2006). He is currently finishing his post-doctorate in Human Rights at the Federal University of Goiás. He has worked as a contract professor in the departments of Indigenous Intercultural Education and History, both at the Federal University of Goiás, and as a teacher in Elementary Education, training of young people adults in socio-environmental education projects carried out in rural schools.
