About the Columbia Pre-College Medical Innovation Collaborative (PCMIC)
The Columbia Pre-College Medical Innovation Collaborative brings together the expertise of Columbia University’s Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and Columbia’s Graduate School of Education,Teachers College to introduce high school students to the rapidly evolving world of modern medicine. Through hands-on learning, exposure to real clinical environments, and guided exploration of emerging technologies—from robotics and AI to new diagnostic tools—PCMIC empowers students to understand not only how medicine is practiced today, but how it is being reshaped for tomorrow. By combining medical excellence with leading-edge research in learning, PCMIC serves as a national model for pre-college pathways that cultivate curiosity, scientific skill, and the next generation of innovators in health and healthcare technology.
