Geisieli Rita de Oliveira

Geisieli Rita de Oliveira is an Afro-Indigenous woman from the Borum-Kren people, a teacher and researcher with experience across basic, technological, and higher education. She is a PhD candidate in Education and Science at UFMG, with her defense scheduled for February 2025. Her research investigates Afro-diasporic and Afro-Indigenous technosciences, artificial intelligence, and decolonial approaches to science and technology, connecting these fields to climate change, environmental racism, and questions of gender and race within education in favelas, rural contexts, and traditional communities. Her work also embraces affective ecologies, ancestral knowledge, and pedagogies of resistance, weaving together science, technology, and social and environmental justice.
